Matt focuses on working with Insight’s portfolio companies to remove obstacles to scale through the application of lean principles to competitive strategy formulation, rapid innovation, customer experience, and process optimization. His background spans over thirty years of frontline experience guiding senior leaders and their teams across a broad domain of companies and industries. Matt is an internationally recognized thought leader and multiple author of several bestselling and critically acclaimed books on business strategy, human-centered innovation, and lean operations. Additionally, Matt is Co-Author of What a Unicorn Knows: How Innovative Entrepreneurs Use Lean Simplicity to Scale for Growth. Matt received his BA from Johns Hopkins University, and his MBA from The Wharton School. He lives in southern California with his wife and youngest daughter. An avid cyclist, published country songwriter, and struggling tennis player, he considers winning The New Yorker cartoon caption contest his greatest creative achievement.
